Eclipse Scientific Group Opens New State-of-the-Art Facility

Eclipse Scientific Group, the UK's leading analytical food testing organisation and a member of the Inspicio Group, is pleased to announce the opening of a new facility in Sittingbourne, Kent.

Eclipse Scientific is recognised across the UK for its comprehensive range of analytical testing capabilities including food and drink, nutritional chemistry, vitamins, pesticide residues, pharmaceutical and animal welfare. This new facility with its state-of-the-art laboratories will specialise in microbiological testing and analysis for customers in the food, drink and water sectors.

With twelve centres of testing excellence strategically located across the UK and Ireland, the Sittingbourne facility builds on Eclipse Scientific Group's strong testing capabilities. In addition to food and drink testing, the new facility also houses the Eclipse Scientific Group's main Legionella and water testing laboratory providing an extensive range of services to customers in the water sector. As with all of the Eclipse Scientific Group sites, the Sittingbourne centre is UKAS accredited to ISO:17025, reassuring customers that their test results achieve internationally recognised standards every time.

The official opening of the Sittingbourne centre will take place on Wednesday 10th June 2009 with many local dignitaries, customers and Eclipse Scientific Group senior management in attendance. Following the official opening, guests will be given a tour of the site to see for themselves the world-class laboratories which are already proving to be a great addition to the Eclipse laboratory network.

Steven Woollands, who joined Eclipse Scientific Group in January as its CEO said "Being able to continue with our investment during these tough market conditions is testament to the strength of the company. Sittingbourne is now the second largest laboratory within Eclipse Scientific Group at 12,000 sq ft compared to 5,000 sq ft at the previous site in Ashford, and we have further room for expansion. The additional space enables us to focus on specialised tests and provide an even higher level of service. The Sittingbourne facility is a great addition to the Eclipse Scientific Group family."
