High Potency Molecules in Development  |  Clinical Trials for Hyamax  |   New Appointments at LycoRed  |  Research Agreement for Bioponic Phytoceuticals
Clinical Trials for Hyamax

The mucopolysaccharide sodium hyaluronate (HA) offers functions such as cushioning and moisturizing and, as such, has been used to treat osteoarthritis and as a cosmetic skincare product. Traditionally used for joint and eye health, HA has recently become popular as an ingredient in dietary supplements and pharmaceuticals. But, at present, few clinical tests have been done on oral HA to evaluate its absorption and efficacy.

Fenchem is now in the process of performing clinical trials on animals and humans with a variety of HA molecules. By comparing the distribution and metabolism of HAs with different molecular weights, Fenchem expects to be able to offer guidance regarding appropriate levels of consumption for consumers and specify the exact molecular weight of the HA product with the highest absorption and efficacy for joint health.

Hyamax is a naturally sourced hyaluronic acid manufactured by Fenchem Enterprises Ltd. Different from HA derived from animal extracts, Hyamax is produced by microbial fermentation and, with high bioactivity levels, it is totally free of BSE, allergens and viruses. The company offers molecular weights from 8000 to 3.0 million Da to meet customer requests, especially for skincare and bone health applications. Hyamax can be used in dietary supplements, cosmetics and pharmaceuticals (www.fenchem.com).
